About the Journal

The focus and scope

Academia Journal of Biology, ISSN (print) 2615-9023, ISSN (online) 2815-5920, abbreviated as AJB, is a peer-reviewed for publication of quality articles on all aspects of biology including: Biodiversity, biochemistry, biogeography, biophysics, biotechnology, botany, conservation, ecology, entomology, environment, evolution, fishery, genetics, herpetology, microbiology, mammalogy, morphology, ornithology, parasitology, physiology, systematics, taxonomy, and zoology. The AJB has been the the Web of Science Indexes in Zoological Record, but not indexed in Web of Science Core Collection, and the Asean Citation Index.

The Asian Journal of Biology (AJB) has been officially published since 1978 under the title Tap chi Sinh hoc (ISSN 0866-7160), with articles written in Vietnamese and accompanied by English abstracts. As of April 2020, issues published in Vietnamese with English abstracts under the traditional title Tap chi Sinh hoc have been discontinued. Currently, AJB publishes four fully English-language issues per year, with an annual output of approximately 48–52 research articles, and from 12 to 13 articles/per issue. Academia Journal of Biology is committed to the rapid publication of all accepted manuscripts, with online publication completed within 30 days following acceptance by the Editor-in-Chief.

The journal does not charge any article processing fees or other publication-related fees. All costs associated with the publication process are fully supported by the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

Academia Journal of Biology is an open-access and peer-reviewed journal. The articles published in the AJB are subject to the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0), which permits for immediate free access to the articles to read, download, copy, non-commercial use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the work is properly cited (with a link to the formal publication through the relevant DOI), and without subscription charges or registration barriers.
